We curated a collection of abstract artworks from the 1930s and ’40s in this regal double parlor, inspiring the “Art Moderne” color story. Despite the room’s elongated and narrow shape, she overcame the challenge by finding a vintage 1970s burgundy serpentine sofa, which anchored the furniture layout. The star of the room, however, was a super high gloss pale green high-lacquer finish crafted by NYC Fine Finishes. The juxtaposition of the 30s/40s with the 70s felt fresh, as both decades shared softer silhouettes and a certain purity of line, making the mix of periods inspirational.
